Alco-HOLD is the world's first patented food technology designed to reduce alcohol absorption. Foods formulated with this proprietary ingredient mixture can support both a healthier and more enjoyable drinking experience through better control of a consumer's blood alcohol level.

The efficacy of Alco-HOLD has been demonstrated in two separate randomized and controlled clinical trials in the form of a protein bar (SOBAR).

Compared to eating either a regular snack mix (Chex-Mix) or a full meal ten minutes before consuming two standard drinks, eating a SOBAR worked twice as well per calorie at reducing total alcohol absorption and peak blood alcohol levels. These results were published in a peer reviewed medical journal.

Two commercial versions of SOBAR were test marketed in the United States as well as one in Brazil through a licensing agreement with Ambev S.A.; positive consumer feedback has been obtained.

The issued U.S. patent and other intellectual property are currently being offered for license to leading companies in the food & drink space to either create their own snack brand or to promote smarter-drinking strategies alongside their existing alcohol brands.
